At that time I was really in love with a girl and decided to write some songs for her for birthday.
I didn't knew anything about recording but my guitar-teacher Klaus Engers did and he had this 4-track-Cassette-recorder (That is also the reason why the song has a little trembling caused by the magnetic-tape...).
So I wrote three songs whose became the EP "Sirius & Delta Water" and chosed a project-name: SLOW. I don't know why. Guess I wasn't really slow but I thought it sounded cool.
One of them songs is a love-song called "Eternal". Maybe that's the best song of these recordings but I decided to chose "Grapevina" cos "Eternal" is special reserved to that girl.
I played every instrument take by take started with the drums and Klaus was watching over the recording not even knowing where the songs were going to.
"Grapevina" is not a love-song but has the same strange feeling "Waterland" has. Also the lyrics are about a dream I had.
Half of the first verse is missing. That was because of a recording-mistake we could not retract. The proper lyrics were " At the station on the edge of town"...
