Waterland (Version 2016) (Just In Orange)

from Two Thousand Weeks (Part 1) (1998 - 2006) by Steven Hein

about

"Waterland" is maybe the oldest song I've ever written guiding me thru the musical part of my life.
It must have been round 1991/92 when I wrote this song in the garage of my parents (...I also used the garage as rehearsal-room). At that time I was really inspired by Voivod's "Angel Rat" especially the title track and I wanted to create something like that.

Later on I tried to do Waterland with my first band-project which was called "Pegasus Cube". The band personal changed, the bandname changed and somewhere in summer 1995 it was the band "Just In Orange" to release it. Waterland then was first released on the first demo-tape of Just In Orange and later on the first album called "Aeon", released in 1998.

The lyrics are kind of cryptic. It's about a dream I had back in 1991 or so. Strange things about dreams. Useless to explain the lyrics in details. But I still remember everything of it even it's more then half my life ago and it still gives me that special crazy feeling everytime I play or listen to "Waterland".
